Dubai: Dubai Road and Transportation Administration (RTA) has completed the first two stages of its energy -saving project, and deployed 19,968 energy -saving LED bulbs in subway stations and facilities. For more than two years, this effort has saved 16.7 million kilowatts, worth 7.6 million Diram, and reduced carbon footprint of 7,283 tons of carbon dioxide.
The implementation of this move is to make Dubai a global city that is more sustainable and livable. This is part of RTA's efforts to achieve sustainable development by providing environmental friendly transportation systems and shows its support for Dubai's comprehensive energy strategy. The strategy is designed to save energy by 30%by 2030.
The RTA of Dubai continued to launch energy conservation measures, which remained consistent with the cities' sustainable development goals, emphasized environmental protection transportation, and supported 30%of the energy -saving target by 2030.
Mohammed Al Amiri, director of the RTA train agency's railway maintenance, said the project includes replacing various conventional lighting equipment in Dubai subway stations and facilities to LED lights on red and green lines.
LED lights transform about 95%of energy into light, and only waste 5%of heat, making it an environmentally friendly and low -cost lighting option, reflecting RTA's commitment to sustainable practice.
He said that RTA has launched a power -saving project in the first stage in 2021.As part of this stage, RTA replaced 7,200 traditional lighting equipment with energy -saving lighting equipment.
Energy -saving
This measure helped RTA save about 4,981,000 watts of energy within one year.In addition, it reduces carbon footprints of 2,142.24 tons of carbon dioxide.
RTA completed the second stage, replaced 12,768 energy -saving lighting devices, and saved 4,981,964 kilowatts in the second year, reducing 5,141 tons of carbon dioxide.
The third stage of the project has begun and 5%of the work has been completed. The completion date is expected to be the end of this year. This stage includes installation of 12,717 energy -saving lighting devices in the parking lot and Dubai subway related facilities.
